Summary:
The Social Services Manager plays a critical role in overseeing and coordinating social services programs within the organization. This position requires a deep understanding of social sciences, particularly in the field of psychology, to effectively manage and support social service teams. The Social Services Manager is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to ensure the delivery of high-quality services that meet the needs of clients.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop, implement, and evaluate social services programs, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and best practices.
2. Provide leadership and guidance to social service teams, including hiring, training, and performance management.
3. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to assess client needs and develop individualized treatment plans.
4. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of social services programs, making necessary adjustments to improve outcomes.
5. Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of client interactions, progress, and services provided.
6. Ensure the confidentiality and privacy of client information in accordance with legal and ethical standards.
7. Coordinate and facilitate regular team meetings to promote collaboration and information sharing.
8. Assist in the development and management of department budgets, ensuring resources are allocated appropriately.
9. Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with community partners, stakeholders, and other agencies to enhance service delivery.
10. Stay informed about current research, trends, and developments in the field of social services and psychology to inform program planning and implementation.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, Psychology, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
2. Proven experience in a management or supervisory role within a social services setting.
3. In-depth knowledge of social sciences, particularly psychology, and its application to social services.
4. Strong understanding of relevant regulations, ethical guidelines, and best practices in social services.
5. Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
6. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with clients, staff, and external stakeholders.
7. Ability to assess and prioritize client needs, develop individualized treatment plans, and monitor progress.
8. Proficient in the use of technology and software applications relevant to social services management.
9. Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities to effectively manage multiple tasks and responsibilities.
10. Demonstrated commitment to cultural sensitivity and diversity in service provision.
